Dalaman is one of the few coastal areas, still relatively undeveloped and unspoilt. The town remains predominantly Turkish with a mixture of traditional sights, sounds, and fragrances certain to excite the senses.
As an established town Dalaman has a range of shops; small bars; and cafes and restaurants serving delicious traditional dishes. Basic English is spoken in most of the cafes and restaurants. As tourism is relatively new to the area prices here are lower than in many of the resort towns. The Turkish people are overwhelmingly friendly.
Dalaman’s weekly market is held on Thursdays and you will find plenty of fresh produce and bargains.
The stunning Sarigerme Blue Flag beach is reached within 15 minutes.
The location of Dalaman could not be better, with many resort towns within a short distance. The sophisticated marina town of Gocek is only a 15 minute drive, Dalyan 20 minutes, and the popular resort town of Fethiye can be reached within 45 minutes. Click here for more information.
